Sapphire Prepares PULSE A620AM WIFI MicroATX Motherboards

Sapphire Technology has given a sneak peek of its new PULSE A620AM WIFI motherboard. This board uses the AMD A620A chipset, comes in an microATX size, and has two slots for DDR5 memory. The PULSE A620AM WIFI boasts a 6+2+1 phase power system, with an aluminium heatsink that covers the VRM left-side area. Sapphire's tests show that the board "keeps steady and runs at consistent speeds when using high-end processors like the Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 7 9800X3D at full load."

For extras, this board lets you overclock DDR5 memory up to 7200 MT/s, has one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot and one PCIe 3.0 x4 slot, comes with two M.2 storage spots, and includes built-in Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 support. On the back of the Sapphire PULSE A620AM WIFI board, you'll find one HDMI port, one DisplayPort, four USB 2.0 ports, one PS/2 port for keyboard and mouse, two USB-A ports, one RJ45 Ethernet port, two Wi-Fi antenna plugs, and three audio jacks. IT Home reports that the board "will hit online stores starting April 21" at what they call a "budget-friendly price". Judging from the aesthetics and features, Sapphire PULSE A620AM WIFI motherboards are oriented toward users on a tight budget. Until the official release, we just have to wait and see Sapphire's vision of a "budget-friendly price".

I would be ALL OVER an X870 or B850 chipset motherboard (or similar tier for a later generation) made by Sapphire. Ive currently got three different Sapphire videocards running in different applications and have never had an issue, and in my experience the quality is top notch. Personally, I think it'd be really cool if they did a Nitro+ series of motherboards that either match or use as inspiration the aesthetic from the respective videocard model line.

Most likely will be available "only" in China. However, that won't restrict someone from getting it via e-shops.

Looks clean as hell. I'm always down for more competition. And if they can match the quality their GPUs have - even their lowest end ones - I'm eager to buy from them.

Very nice they made a mainboard. I hope it is not a (afaik asrock) rebrand like NZXT does.

I would love to see anyone, including Sapphire, release a x870 matx motherboard. I don't understand the lack of support for that form factor.

I would also love to see Sapphire motherboards here in Canada. I just bought my first new GPU from them and have been really impressed so far.

My first Sapphire was a 9600XT

A basic board. Not what I'd be in the market for, but it's nice to see more of these for AM5 nonetheless. $80ish would make this a welcome sight.

Nice! Technically mine was a R9 290 Tri-X but I don't count it as it was a refurb unit. My newest card is a 9070 XT Pure. Absolutely fantastic card.

I agree an AM5 Mid Range and Upper end chipset ATX/EATX would be great if they had a good mobo bios team, since unsure, AsRock is the way I roll.

I wish they got back into making complete lines of motherboards. It would be refreshing to have a new high-quality motherboard maker. So long as their excellent customer service is maintained following this expansion.

Yep, I miss Sapphire motherboards.
I had a white Socket 939 board years ago for a clear acrylic case and I wanted integrated graphics that didn't suck since those were my GPU BIOS flashing and modding days.

Back then it was an ATI chipset or Nvidia chipset if you wanted integrated graphics and Nvidia weren't doing very well after the terrible release of the "dustbuster" FX series. IIRC they didn't really undo their damaged reputation until the 8800 GTX launched about 4 years later.

So yeah, I picked ATI graphics and Sapphire were probably the top ATI partner back then.

That's pretty cool, you can do a Sapphire based build with a Nitro card for example. Missing USB-C on the back, wouldn't mind optical for the audio too or at least USB-C AUDIO.

Nobody who cares about audio is using onboard or gaming anything.

Toslink is a passthrough. Not so much "caring" about audio, but convenience. People including me usually has something that can be hooked to it.

Asrock "get it" with their gaming boards: that's a perfect compatibility combo IMO: headphone + mic + optical. And it takes the same amount of space on the back. And not having a single USB-C on the back in 2025 is criminal IMO.

You can buy a USB-C back panel connector that you hook up to your motherboard for pennies. Or a converter. I'd much rather have as many USB-A ports as possible, but that's just my opinion.

It seems to equal some B650M boards in features, which is not a testament to how good it is, but rather how feature starved the B650M boards are.
