Best Buy Briefly Lists Seagate 4 TB Xbox Storage Expansion Card - "Discounted" Price: $430
Yesterday, keen trackers of brand-new Xbox accessories stumbled upon the first-ever 4 TB Storage Expansion Card—courtesy of Seagate. Prior to a fresh discovery of the (now inactive) listing on Best Buy, Xbox Series X|S owners were only able to select 512 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB options (produced by Seagate and WD). Since launching back in 2020, Microsoft's proprietary SDD design remains a controversial prospect—mostly due to high prices, associated with the utilization of a CFExpress standard. In comparison, Sony's rival current-gen consoles—the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro—can be user upgraded with relatively reasonably-priced standard-sized internal M.2 SSDs (depending on specs). The Xbox Series Expansion Card requires less "tech expertise," since it is simply inserted into a special rear port.
Before the scrubbing of Best Buy's prematurely published product page, gaming news outlets focused on a $429.99 cost of ownership. It is unclear whether eager customers have secured first batches of stock, but Microsoft and Seagate (its official storage provider partner) have not issued any press material regarding the leaked 4 TB flagship model. Curiously, Best Buy's brief sale included a special launch discount. According to screen captures, the normal MSRP would be $499.99. Seagate's 2 TB SKU is currently on offer: $219.99 (instead of $259.99), while the WD BLACK C50 2 TB card sports a full price tag of $299.99. Naturally, better value is offered by (USB-connected) external solutions. As of early 2025, hardcore storage enthusiasts can link up 16+ TB storage devices to Microsoft's Xbox Series X and S machines. Industry experts believe that Seagate's 4 TB Storage Expansion Card will be introduced during this weekend's (Sunday, June 8) Xbox Games Showcase.

I cant believe it took this long for something bigger than 2tb to come out in this day and age (Especially considering how big games and updated have gotten).
…so why not get a PC at this point? $499(same as the launch price of the Series X) + $599 for the console(Series X or discless Series X for $549)
4TB SSD for $499 where as you can get an 8TB SSD M.2 for $100 more…
PC gaming still strongest in the field imho. Even with the GPU market as it is. As a matter of fact, as the corporate stranglehold on consoles gets stronger, the PC will grow ever more, because people don't like being nickled and dimed for everything. The PC is still the platform that can scale along entirely with your budget and demands.
Typical ponzi-scheme type of BS...take the so-called "MSRP", mark it up by $100 (or more), then put it "on sale" for $25 off and make it sound/look like they're giving you a spectacular deal....
n.O.t....
Indiana Jones
Elder Scrolls Oblivion remaster
DOOM Dark Ages
South of Midnight
Avowed
Hellblade 1 and 2
Grounded
Sea of Thieves
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Ghostwire Tokyo(this was released on Xbox first)
Hi-Fi Rush
Deathloop
Just to name a few that I played. Xbox first party games are STACKED. That’s my same view on PlayStation. I just don’t see them surviving with JUST their first party exclusives and consoles. Consoles are not profitable(unless you’re Nintendo…cheap bastards) and Xbox is doing JUST fine. Just pay attention more to them and not have a pedantic view.
I asked ChatGPT first and double checked from here: store.playstation.com/en-us/search
That it released on Xbox first or is a first party game is fairly meaningless as only Hi-Fi Rush fits that description (13 months before coming to PS5) and as a thanks for their most popular exclusive MS closed the studio. Talk about killing your golden goose....
Ghostwire and Deathloop were actually PS5 exclusives that later came to Xbox due to MS-Bethesda acquisition. And neither was a hit anyway.
So much for this supposed stacked list of games that would incentivize anyone to get Xbox instead.
Meanwhile PS5 had the following exclusives:
Astro Bot
Stellar Blade
Demon Souls remake
Gran Turismo 7
Horizon Forbidden West
Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales
And more...
So which one would buyers gravitate towards? Awoved that flopped and South Of Midnight that did not do big numbers or much more popular PS5 exclusives?
The answer is clear. Couple that with non-proprietary storage upgrade possibility that cost far less and the choice is clear. The sales numbers also reflect that.
Xbox is far more likely to give up first as MS has plenty of other endeavors where as for Sony, PlayStation is far more important and not just another side business. Xbox is not doing just fine. It's barely surviving.
The storage thing is super dumb and the fact that they are charging that much is ridiculous. I can sit here and give faults to companies. When it comes to Sony or Nintendo, anything they do is just a slap on the wrist but Microsoft? People want death and make up dumb shit like “Xbox is dying” but not paying a damn attention what Microsoft is doing.
PlayStation is most certain not more important and the fact you say and believe that is what giving REAL gamers a bad name. You can love a company but you have to give criticism otherwise you’re a delusional fanboy and can’t see your favorite company do no wrong.
I could also make the same argument for Xbox about their "exclusives" being available on PC but im not, because it's flawed argument.
The fact that you made it shows that you're grasping at straws. PS5 has priority. PC follows later and not for every single game. But they were. Only thanks to Krafton stepping in they were saved and revived. No thanks to MS.
Hi-Fi Rush was the only exclusive in the last years that Xbox has had that was actually a hit.
Xbox has zero golden goose in their lineup. Either present or future. Cope harder. Those games were never hits. Nor did they somehow contribute to Xbox sales. Just checkboxes in a supposed "stacked" lineup or whatever. Avowed was moderate success. Wannabe Skyrim. Except worse. The kind of slop people these days seem to enjoy and praise. Slap on the wrist? People vehemently reject Sony's stupid PSN account requirement on PC and their recent price increases.
Nintendo gets plenty of criticism for it's expensive games with just a fresh coat of paint and underpowered hardware they are asking for more than it's successor. Not to mention their other anti-consumer endeavors.
MS is doing what? What are they doing? They're doing nothing note worthy. I doubt most of MS leadership even cares. What the hell are real gamers? I dont love Sony. Or MS. Or Nintendo. I dont even own a console nor do i plan to own one.
Criticism is one thing. Coping via misinformation is something else. Everyone sees the decline of Xbox. It's not some fanboy argument someone occasionally makes in forums. Denying that is fanboyism.
Have you forgotten that Valve was losing money on Steam Deck but was fine because of Steam? You know the platform for PC gaming? They can afford to lose money on their handheld. That goes double for Microsoft because of all the games they have under their belt and GamePass. It’s the same thing but gamers like you fail to see and honestly it’s sad. Xbox has not been declining at all. Again, just hating Xbox because of status quo of an “informed gamer” again hating because of status quo. Just because YOU don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s slop for everyone else. Not everyone shares the feelings toward that game as you Again, you’re wrong. Those games were well received and it makes Xbox money. These games are part of Xbox line up whether you like it or not. BUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Cope harder he says but doing the absolute most to make Xbox look like trash. Just say you hate them more than PlayStation and Nintendo and be done with it. Your retaliations are just bitter along with misinformation. Again I already list the golden gooses they have and there are plenty. You just choose to deny them. That’s coping. Not as much because PC users don’t have to wait that long if at all for those games to come out. HellDivers is a prime example. Plus, when Sony release games for PC, they make more money when they just keep it on their console. Similar to that Xbox is doing….hmmmmmmmmmm You’re missing the point and it shows. You don’t pay attention Xbox and parrot what other says. You listed off games that so called good games on PlayStation and most of them are not exclusive games. Just like Microsoft is doing. Crazy that “gamers” like you can’t see the similarities or the obvious monkey see monkey do activity between Microsoft and Sony.
Your only rebuttal is I’m grasping for straws which is a fat lie and call it a flawed argument. It’s a very sound argument if you paying attention to gaming news instead word of mouth. The argument is that Xbox is dying and that couldn’t be further from the truth. Xbox don’t have any games? That couldn’t be further from the truth. You’re just rambling and parroting at this point
